Kaplan Areas of Focus

Accreditation

KUHS is offered through Kaplan Virtual Education, which is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award high school diplomas, and accredited by the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA).

SACS is one of the six regional accrediting organizations in the United States recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, and it accredits more than 12,000 public and private schools in 11 states in the southeastern United States and in Latin America. Member institutions perform regular comprehensive self-evaluations to plan for improvement and to ensure and maintain their overall quality.

CITA is an accreditation agency created by the seven regional school accrediting commissions of the International Council of School Accreditation Commissions (ICSAC), for aligning accreditation activities with new approaches that include distance learning institutions.

What accreditation means to you

Accreditation is important because it holds institutions to standards of quality and consistency. Many colleges, universities, and institutions will not recognize diplomas, degrees, or course credits unless they are completed at an accredited institution. Accreditors require that member institutions meet rigorous standards in their delivery of education.
